First 10k!

I ran my first 10k today! The Redeemer Lutheran Fall Fest had a 5k and a 10k. It is right across the street from the shop. Here's the course map:

It was a beautiful course, the weather couldn't have been better, and the race was well supported. There were tons of water stations and lots of volunteers along the way cheering. Here's me, around mile 5.5:

I was announced as second place, but I knew I had passed the lady who came in first. She agreed that it was odd because she knew I had passed her. Her time was 1:07. So we agreed that I came in 1st and she came in 2nd.

Can you believe it! I came in first! In my first 10k! Congratulations to the other lady are in order, as it was her first 10k, too!

I'm on top of the world! Can't wait for next week!
