It was a good four-miler today. I did it in 41:08, a 10:17 average pace. Mile splits were 9:52, 10:25, 10:26, 10:24. I am much happier with that consistency than with the consistent decline in pace on Sunday's run. I still want to get to a 10 minute mile, like my race pace, but have it be my regular training pace. I guess I just have to keep at it. Practice, practice, practice.
So Bill asked for my training plan. So he could encourage me from afar, or so he said. I had a feeling he wanted to train with me. He mentioned that he did a seven mile run the other day, so I guess I was right. Of course he did his seven miles way faster than I did mine. I'm glad that he is doing it, but I don't want him to feel pressured to. I am doing this half marathon for me, not to shame him into anything. If he wants to run distances, that's great! I just don't want him to feel like he has to.
I enjoyed the run this morning. I tried to mix up the neighborhood loops so they don't get routine. I am thinking about going to Navy Point Park for Sunday's long run, weather permitting. I called to volunteer for the Pensacola Marathon on Sunday. If they call me back, I would like to help with that, so I don't know when I'll do the run.
The treadmill comes tomorrow. Yay! I think I'll do my Thursday Three on it ... just because I can! I'll keep you posted.
