Let's catch up

It has been a few days since I posted, so let's get caught up.

After the incredible 5k on Monday, Monica and I came back and visited with the pet psychic. It was a joke. When she was first holding Marco she told me that she sensed he was agitated. Um, no duh. Then she said that she was getting the number three from him. So she kept asking if he was three, was he born in the third month, and so on. We can't figure out anything remotely related to three, although I am continuing to think about it. Then she said she was seeing pink roses, some with thorns and some without, indicating my grandparents, one of whom was stern. Really? I just felt like she was handing me a line. I thanked her for her time, kissed my $20 goodbye, and showed her to the door. It was entertaining and Monica and I did get a few laughs about it.

Speaking of Monica, she asked me to teach her to knit. I was very flattered by this, so I started teaching her on Sunday. I think it blew her mind. But she continued to practice and was doing really well. Here is her first project, finished right before breakfast Wednesday, before we left for the airport.

I also want to show you the gift she bid on at the auction and gave me for my birthday.

Tuesday was a typical day as was Wednesday. I was really sad to drop Monica off at the airport. I wish she could have stayed longer. I remember when we used to leave a few miles from each other and I long for those days. She and Dave are great people and I wish we could spend more time with them.

I want to end this post on a happy note, so here's a picture of Tawny at the shop yesterday. Doesn't it make you say awww?!
