A little humor for the day

We went to Jury Duty's Fur Ball last night and had a wonderful time! I bid on a silent auction item, the Cat Lover's Basket. The basket was a really nice cuddle cup type bed. In it was some cat toys, three cat themed books, a picture frame, and a bottle of wine. I didn't know that there were more live auction items than in the catalog, so I went to beat the line at checkout. I motioned to Monica, but she told me to wait. What I didn't realize was that she was bidding on an item to give to me for my birthday! It is a beautiful framed needlepoint of irises. How sweet and thoughtful!

We slept in this morning, walked the dogs, and then headed to End of the Line Cafe for brunch. There were peppers in most items, but they were able to accommodate me. We called last night, but the person we spoke to didn't seem to have a clue as to what was on the menu. I had with tomato and roasted onion soup, plain tofu scramble, hash browns, toast, salad, and cinnamon pear cake. Delicious!

From there we went to the Exchange and looked at sewing machines and treadmills. Monica tried to use the ab machine that looks like a big disc where you put your knees in the pads, hold on to the handles, and try to swivel around. She had a lot of trouble and decided that it must be locked. Well, when she got off it, she pushed it quite easily. Ooops. Not locked! We had a good laugh on that.

Then we browsed through the little local souvenir section and found these not quite right mugs.

We were tempted to buy them!

After that we went to Johnson Beach on Perdido Key. You could not have ordered better weather. There was a nice breeze, it was not too hot, and there was no oil. Monica was slightly disappointed that she didn't get to see the tarballs, but it was OK because it was gorgeous. We spent a while there, watching people play frisbee and swim and even parasail.

We came home and Monica learned to knit. She is doing a fantastic job! What a fun-filled day!

I will have some fun and exciting information to share tomorrow (I hope).
