What a productive day off!

I feel like I accomplished a lot today!

I went for a run this morning. It was 85 degrees at 6:30am with a heat index of 95. It was way hot! Since I completed the Couch-to-5k program, I'm on my own for training. I thought I would run 2 miles and see what my time was. I did the first mile in 10:15 (no idea how!) and the second mile in 10:45 (still awesome!). I feel GREAT about that!!!

When I got back and cooled off, I did a bunch of domestic stuff, including cleaning the yard, watering the possibly dying transplanted plants, vacuuming, and mopping. Whew! Not fun, but they needed to be done.

Then I headed out and dropped off the glass for recycling, paid the shop's electric bill, and made the shop cash deposit. I debated where to go for breakfast/lunch. I left the house a little after 10, and thought very hard about making a Waffle House run. It has been a while. But I decided against that. I went to Sluggo's instead, and that was an excellent choice.

Sluggo's used to be in Brownsville, but recently moved downtown. It is a vegan restaurant. I was going to get the hummus wrap, but they had already made the hummus with paprika. I opted for the tofu grinder on rye with a salad and a side of mashed potatoes. I got the cheezy sauce on the potatoes instead of the mushroom gravy because the cook thought there was paprika in the gravy. Everything was delicious, and I washed it all down with a beer. A BEER! At 11:00am! That's when you know it's a day off! Anyway, it was an excellent lunch. I will be back.

After lunch I went to the mall so that I could start the shop contest I discussed a few posts ago (I made the first one really easy). I also dropped off a gorgeous ring that my awesome husband gave me for our anniversary to be resized. It fits, but it could fit a little better. I asked if my friend Shannon was in, but she wasn't working yet. Funny thing, at that exact moment my phone binged with an email. I checked it and it was a Facebook friend request from Shannon! Talk about weird!

Then it was off to the coach to drop off some supplies for this week's trip. I also wanted to see how hot it was inside to determine whether the cats can stay out there during the day, but it was too hot inside. I think I will have to bring them into the shop. That will be interesting.

I've been goofing off on the computer and I did some knitting. My hands feel almost back at 100%, which is very exciting. I think I will go back to Razor's Edge on Wednesday and give foundations another try. If I hurt myself again, I may just call it quits there and continue to do modified crossfit with Cherryl at the base gym.

We were going to go tonight, but it looks like there's a good storm rolling in and there are several road closures tonight. President Obama is coming in town and is causing quite a stir. The road closures for his visit to the beach tomorrow morning are ridiculous. I will be pretty excited if he passes by the shop tomorrow, though. I'll stand outside and wave, just like I did for the King and Queen of Spain when they visited. It's not like I'm going to get any business during that time!

Speaking of business, I launched the contest today, the Facebook one where I have my fans guess where I am knitting. I have three responses so far, and it has only been about two hours.

Well, I need to go put the last load of laundry in and get ready to feed the dogs and me.
