I was supposed to do a tempo run today, but I didn't run this morning since I called and got an early appointment with the doctor (more on that later). I hustled to get everything done so I could do the McGuire's running club run tonight. I made it and had a great time!
My friend Chris was there along with his wife, Jackie, and another DailyMiler, Jen. I have been friends with Jen on DM for a while, but this was the first time we had met in person. She's an engineer working for the Air Force at Eglin. It was fun running with them. I thought we were doing a good pace. I was having trouble keeping up the conversation, but I was running it without any trouble.
I did 3.14 miles in 30:30. That's 45 seconds faster than the last time I did the McGuire's Tuesday run (3/2). I feel pretty good about it. Afterward we all went to Jaco's at Palafox Pier and I had a mushroom flatbread that was quite tasty.
Splits: 9:37, 9:44, 9:56, 1:14 (=8:38 pace). I need to go faster than this if I am going to make my goal at the Crescent City Classic.
