Week 1 Day 1 DB25k and my first "brick"

I rode my bike this morning. The weather was beautiful for a bike ride. I went 5.99 miles (if only I had a few more feet in the driveway!) in 29:13 for an average speed of 12.3 mph. It was a nice ride. As soon as I finished, I got Rava and Tawny and we went for a run. I guess this isn't technically a "brick" since I didn't jump off the bike and start running. I did take about three minutes to put the bike away and get them leashed up.

Anyway, DB25k stands for Dog Bed to 5k. It's my own program, modeled after the Couch to 5k program which got me in shape. We did a 5 minute warmup walk, then alternated 60 seconds of running with 90 seconds of walking until we had completed 9 runs, then did a cool down walk (about seven minutes) until we got back home. They did pretty well. First seven runs were at a pace of 10:21 to 10:50. Last two were around 11:20. We did a total of 1.92 miles in 32:46 for an average pace of 17:04. I could tell they were really dragging at the end, but they hung in there. We'll see how the next few runs go.
