Christmas Seven

Today was supposed to be a 9 mile run, but it turned into 7. It isn't that I wasn't feeling up to it, or that it was too cold, or anything like that. I just decided to go home and get ready for the day. I think it was a good move.

I ran Ridgewood from Yantecaw to Lincoln and back and then into Brookdale Park. Mom and Dad mentioned doing the track in the park. I didn't want to do a track, as I had envisioned a quarter-mile track, but there are several paved trails throughout the park, so I did a lap around and came back home. All together it was 7 miles in 1:18:53, for an average pace of 11:16. I felt good about the run, but I discovered something. HILLS. Ugh. Each lap had a net ascent (I'm not exactly sure how that happened) for a total net ascent of 888 ft. Interesting!

Splits for the run: 9:52, 10:55, 10:53, 11:39, 11:44, 11:49, 12:09. Not great, not bad.
