Four students successfully completed the My First Sweater class! I was so thrilled to see all the completed sweaters today! It just made my day to see them so proud of their work and so happy to have a sweater. All four sweaters turned out beautifully. There are still a few students who haven't completed; some of whom are not very far into the sweater at all. But that's OK. I'll help them as long as I can.
Now my students want to do another class. I don't know what to offer. I want to offer something short, as my time is short and I don't want to leave anyone hanging if I have to close midway through the class. I've asked for suggestions, so we'll see what turns up. Maybe I'll do a short three or four week class on fingerless mitts or a hat or a sock.
Today was a fabulous sales day for the shop. It was a nice shot in the arm. This weekend I am meeting with a potential buyer. I think she would be a good fit, but it all comes down to her and her family's situation. I feel good about it, but we shall see.
I cast on Monica's socks tonight. It felt good to start a new project. I'll probably cast on my socks tomorrow night. I've had my eye on these socks for over a year, so it will be great to start them. I would love to have them complete so that I can wear them after the half marathon. I can't think of a better way to treat my feet than these socks. They are done with the purl side out so that the inside is exceptionally comfy.
I also have plans to start a sweater, one that I've been eyeing for a while. I had thought to do another thick one, but it will be nice to work on a summery sweater. I selected a colorway that is out of my typical range, and I think that will be nice. It has a pink hue to it, and I hate pink, but the overall coloring is really pretty. I'm doing that in shop yarn and the socks are in "foreign yarn", so I could work on the sweater at the shop if I have any time. It seems like when I work on something at the shop, I sell more of that yarn. I don't know if it is the sheep mentality (if Molly's doing that sweater I have to do that sweater) or if it is because the customers can see how the yarn works up and how it feels. I don't care which it is, as long as it sells yarn!
