So Bill and I ran the Firecracker on Saturday, and we both set personal records! I finished the 3.15 mile course in 33:53 and Bill in 24:02. I am really excited about it and super proud of both of us. I haven't decided about doing the one in August, but I am definitely in for the September Marine Corps one. Now I have been considering doing the 5k to 10k program; I just haven't made the decision to start. I may wait until it cools off a little.
We went to Razor's Edge today. I learned how to do wall balls, the GHD, and the jerk on the bar. I had some moments of uncomfortableness on the GHD when I had to lean backwards. I guess I don't like being upside down. That is going to take a lot to overcome for the handstands.
My warm up was a 250m row, which I did in 1:06, 10 pushups, and 30 abmat situps. Then I had to do box jumps. It was only 12", but I couldn't wrap my mind around it. I had so much trouble. Then I held her hand and I could do it (which I could have told you from the start). I did a few on my own, but this was tough on my brain, more so than my body. Bill noticed that my shoulders never moved forward with my body so I always had a backward lean. I felt that, too. I have no idea why I found this to be so difficult.
My WOD today was "Karen", 150 wall balls for time. My time was 9:20, which I think is pretty good. Bill did the regular WOD, which was AMRAP 3x4 minute 10 x 20" box jumps, 5 ring dips, and 8 GHDs with one minute breaks in between the four minute sets. I think he did an awesome job!
