I just ate a blueberry and I am stuffed!

Not really! :-)

I went blueberry picking in Beulah with Michelle, Hal, and the girls. We had a blast! I picked two gallons worth! YUM! It was interesting to taste-test the different kinds side by side. The farm had Tif-Blue, Premiere, Climax (giggle giggle), Powder Blue, and a few others. I really liked the Tif-Blue, so I spent most of my time in that aisle.

The we got to talking about making wine, since Hal is a wine maker. We were wondering how many blueberries we'd have to pick to make wine. I did some brief (and I mean brief) research on the internet and it looks like you only need 13# of blueberries to make 5 gallons of wine. That's not bad! I probably brought home five or more pounds tonight.

So I think I've convinced Hal and Michelle to do this, so we're going to meet again in the morning to pick more fruit! I need to have some for cobbler and pie and muffins and snacks and all that good stuff, so we need to get more for wine. I don't want to try this on my own, and I think it would be way more fun trying it with friends. So I guess I really need to research just how much we'll need.

Going with them tonight was a great way to get back on my feet. I am allowed some time for a pity party, but not forever. Since Michelle has suffered as I am suffering, she is a great source of support. I am so glad she made a wrong turn and drove by my shop. She is a friend I want to keep forever. And her kids are great. And the more time I spend getting to know her husband, he seems pretty cool, too. Good people. Definitely keepers.

On to the photos!

There are 16 sandwich bags full! That should last me a while ...
