I messed up this morning. I got up and fed the dogs at 6, per usual. Then I decided to lay down for a minute before going for a run. I was pretty sure I would not go back to sleep, since I haven't any other morning. Surprise, surprise. I guess I really needed the sleep, as I didn't wake up until 8:50! Unfortunately that was ten minutes before bowling camp started. So I sent my friend a text saying that I wouldn't make it.
I went downtown to check out the Palafox Market for the first time. There was a block of craft vendors and a block of farmer vendors. Most of the tables had peppers, and a few other vegetables. I stopped by one table where a lady was explaining about blueberry bushes. She seemed quite knowledgeable and I was tempted to buy some blueberry plants to put in our area out front. She had pint containers of blueberries for sale for $4. They were labeled with which variety of blueberry. I didn't realize there were different ones. She is the owner of the farm in Beulah where you can go and pick your own, $10 per gallon. At her table was a lady selling jam. I tasted her blackberry jam and it was delicious so I picked up a jar.
After the market I ran a few errands and then went to the bowling alley to see Michelle. We are going to meet this evening and go blueberry picking. It may be just her or she may have some family in tow. I think they were originally planning to go bowling this evening, but she has been having trouble with her arm, so she was just planning to sit there. This would be more fun for her. I'm looking forward to it, too. I am not the biggest blueberry fan in the world, but I thought this would be a fun thing to do. It rained a lot while Bill was here, so we didn't get to go.
Speaking of Bill, the last I heard he had gotten settled in to his next location. I hope to be able to talk to him this evening and see how the first day went. It sounds like this will be a tough three months, just because there's no leave, liberty, or privacy, and there will be long days, every day. I suppose that is what deployment is too, so it makes sense.
That's all for now.
