Third Time's the Charm

So I got up at 6 this morning. The temperature was in the mid 80s and the heat index was in the low 90s. I figured that if I was going to run, it had better be then. So I went and I was finally successful! My Thursday run ended early due to the same knee pain as Tuesday. I think the total distance was around 3.8 miles and I know I ran it kind of slowly due to the heat.

I just checked the weather. It is 94 out, but the heat index is 110. It is hot.

Good news, my jaw is not nearly as painful as it has been. Even the acupuncture spot is almost all healed. I got the referral to an oral surgeon approved, so I'll call for an appointment Monday.

The shop had a great day. Probably the best day this week. I am still very frustrated with the baby blanket I am attempting to knit. You wouldn't think it would be hard to count six knits and then six purls and then repeat all the way across, but for some unknown reason, I cannot do that. I think I have made a mistake on every pattern row so far (around 26 rows). So finally out of frustration I put in markers every six stitches. If that doesn't help me, nothing will. I have 3 1/2 pattern repeats done out of 13. I am really hoping I can get this done before the end of August.

The green sweater is coming apart soon. I want to have that complete when I go to NJ for the baby shower at the end of September. It may not be cold enough to bring it, but I want to have it ready so I have the option. But before I do that, I need to finish the socks I'm doing with Michelle (I'm about 20% done with the second sock) and another project that I've been doing. If I neglect housework this weekend, I might be able to complete the knitting on that project and get ready to put the lining in. It would be nice to have that done. It has been a fun one as well as a challenge. It may be the project of which I am most proud. We'll see when it's done.

Knitting is supposed to be fun, right? I don't like knitting on a deadline. I do have several other projects I'd like to start, like Bill's boot socks and the light sweater made of sock yarn. I think I'm going to take out the Sweetheart Tunic I started a few months ago in the Hempton. I have just lost my motivation to complete it. It is beautiful, but I'm just not feeling it. I'll save that for a future project. Probably a few years down the line. Anyway, I'm trying to balance fun knitting with shop knitting. That is challenging. I want to hold fun events at the shop and teach different classes, but it means that I have to do the project either first or with them.

We're doing a sweater at the end of the month. I'm excited about it because it is a great sweater. I've already made it and I'm not making another. Maybe I can work on the green sweater at that time.

I sent Bill's birthday present to him today. I expect it to arrive a few days early, but I thought it would be the best way to do it. I'll probably also send out a little goodie box sometime next week. Gotta take care of my man! Maybe I'll bake some cookies.
