I hope the rest of the day improves

I got up this morning ready to run. I walked in the bathroom and wondered why it smelled of cat pee. Well, because a cat peed. In the play cubes, not in the box. So I cleaned that up, thankful it wasn't on the sofa. It is probably time for a new set of cubes anyway.

So I got out there and was excited. Today was the first day of week 3, with three 17-minute intervals. The weather was cooler than it has been. I got out there and got around to Muldoon felling pretty good. I felt like I was running faster than usual. As I headed north, a school bus came down the road. There was no oncoming traffic and he moved over a little to "share the road". He waved and I waved back. I got over the speed table and saw another bus coming. It was coming rather fast and did not move over even though there was no oncoming traffic. I had to run off the pavement and into the grass and almost down the ditch. The transition from asphalt to grass caused me to twist my ankle and stumble. I turned around and yelled "Hey!" at the bus. It didn't even slow down to go over the speed table.

I was shaken and decided to just walk home. I'll redo that workout another day. I did not get the bus number unfortunately, but I plan to go back out to Muldoon tomorrow at 6:45 to see if I can see which bus it was. If this is a habit for him, I'm sure he'll do it again. I called the school district transportation office and by sheer luck guessed the right person to talk to. I told Joyce what had happened and she was going to try and figure out who it was. If I can figure it out tomorrow, I'll call her back.

It's just my luck that yesterday and today will be the only cool days for running, and they're the two I couldn't do.
