This is not quite right

This really should have been yesterday's title, but I was too busy to blog! I went to the hospital to pick up my medications (the inhaler and the Epi-pen) since the pharmacy refill center said that I couldn't pick them up there, even though the doctor said I could.

At the hospital, I had to wait for around a half an hour. When I was called to the window I was given the inhaler, but not the Epi-Pen. Apparently the hospital is all out. Really?! I hope there were some in the emergency room and on crash carts! They took my number and said they'd call when they got more in. I expected a call today, as they said I should, but I didn't get one. I wonder how long it is going to take to get them in. Sure, I was a slacker and didn't realize my current on had expired, but sheesh! this is a life-saving medicine. I can't believe someone messed up the ordering. I can avoid Aleve pretty well, but people can't avoid bee stings or nuts too easily. I am appalled at this.

In other news, my leg cramps have pretty much relieved themselves. The other day as I was writing my post I thought I would have to chop off my lower half. The pain was so intense. Today it is almost all gone. Weird. I wish I knew what caused it.

I've been getting ready for some friends coming in town. I haven't seen Tom or Jenn since 2006, I think. They moved to Japan and we left for Lemoore. Unfortunately they are coming for a funeral, but I am thrilled to see them. I believe they'll be staying here a few nights, so I want to make the house appear liveable. That will also help when my sister comes in a few weeks. I am really excited to see them. Tom just got back a few days ago from cruise.

I found a few races I'd like to run and I printed out the registration forms. One is the Semper Fi Charity Run in September and the other is the Garcon Point Bridge Run in late October. I was originally planning to run the Tiger Trot in October, but it is on a day when quite possibly I will be with Bill. That is way more important! The Tiger Trot has a 10k race, which is what I would do, since I've started training for that. The Garcon Point Bridge Run is, well, a run over a bridge, which is COOL! It is a 5 mile, which is close to a 10k. I might be able to do both, depending on Bill's schedule. I can always register for the Tiger Trot the morning of the race. I like having a plan in place from which to deviate.

I have concerns about Tawny. She is drinking A LOT of water. I mean A LOT. She is also peeing a lot. I don't know if she feels she needs more due to the heat. Rava is not drinking nearly as much. Like I said before, I am going to keep an eye on her over the next month. Once the heat breaks (and I hope it will) she may drink less and then I'll have my answer. If she continues to drink lots, I will ask the vet about it when I take them in for their annual check-up. We are not home that many hours of the day, but I have to refill the bowl several times during the day and I fill it with 8 cups at a time. The cats and Rava also drink out of it, but the majority is due to Tawny. I fill the bowl at work (which has a smaller capacity) at least twice per day.

I finished the knitting and washing and blocking of my project. It looks great! I am really pleased. Now I need to line it and put it away until the time comes to gift it. Now that that is done and my crochet tote is almost ready for felting, I will take the green sweater apart and start that over. Ugh. That's a lot of stockinette ahead of me. But I am kind of excited to start it. It sounds weird, but I put so much time into that sweater. I can't just let it hang in the shop. I have to make it so I will wear it. When I saw the pattern I wanted to take the pleats out. Then, after much pressure from several customers, we did it as a knit-along in the shop. I couldn't not do the pleats then. Well, now I know mu gut was correct. It's a bummer I have to undo and redo all that work. It took me a month to do the three pieces the first time. I hope I can finish them sooner. In fact, I think I want to do all three at once and avoid side seams. I want to have the sweater done and ready to wear at the end of September, just in case it will be cold enough in NJ when I go.

That's all for now. I have to finish the laundry and drink some more water. I hope to run in the morning and I want to be well hydrated. (I'm sure the wine didn't help ...)

Jaw Update: I called the oral surgeon that Tricare gave me the referral for and was told that they would not schedule an appointment for me, as they do not accept Tricare. Huh? Tricare didn't realize that? I asked for another provider. I just went online to check the status and I have a new referral. Yay! It is in Shalimar, on the other side of Fort Walton Beach, about 60 miles away. Yuck. I see that the provider has a website. Yay! It says right on the front page: "... do not however, manage or treat diseases of the temporomandibular joints (TMJs)." Um. That's what I need! Guess I'll be calling Tricare again tomorrow. It is a good thing the pain in the jaw has lessened. I don't know what I would do if I was still in the agony I was in a few days ago. This would be funny, but it's not. It is very sad.
