I got my final workout of the first week of the Bridge to 10k complete today. I left the house around 6:15. The weather was way better than it has been. The temp was 81 and the heat index a cool 89. There was even a slight breeze! My cadence was steady at around 76 to 78. I was tired due to not sleeping much last night and I really wanted to try and sleep in this morning. Sleeping in hasn't really worked for me lately, so I decided that running would be better. And I enjoyed it.
When I got back I did a little ab workout. That was probably not a good idea, or maybe the two glasses of water first was the bad idea. But I want to continue to strengthen my core, so I did it. I felt a little sick afterward. I'll just have to be more careful next time. Maybe I should alternate days.
Week 2 of the program calls for four reps of a 12 minute run and a 1 minute walk. I think the last day of each week I will bring the GPS to see the distance I am doing. I am signed up for the Semper Fi 5k run on September 18. I hope this training will help increase my speed and endurance and decrease my time in that run.
