It started with a nice long run followed by a dip in the lake. That was nice. Then it got more interesting.
My brother-in-law rented a boat, as he usually does one day during the reunion. With the boat he got a tube. He was taking the kids around tubing and they were having so much fun. I decided it was my time to go out and try. I did! He took it nice and easy and didn't try to throw me off or anything. After others took their turn, I went back on the tube with my sister-in-law (who is not very comfortable in the water) and we went a little faster.
Then I went inside and got Bill and told him that this was the last run before they had to take the boat back. We went on the tube together. I was more comfortable and so we went even faster! When it was our turn again we went at full throttle and went outside the wake! I had so much
fun! It was really enjoyable. Bill could not believe we were tubing together!
I thank Coach John so much for helping me through the fear and giving me some comfort in the water. I knew that if I fell off, I could tread water (like he taught me) until they picked me up. Knowing that gave me the confidence to try tubing. I can't thank him enough for opening up this new world to me! I would have spent the day inside with a book if we hadn't met and while that's relaxing, I would have missed out on so much fun! The dogs had a blast too!
They enjoy the swimming as well.
