Vegas, baby!
After the run Friday morning, we went back to the coach and picked up the dogs and took them for a dip in the river. They seemed to really enjoy it. Then it was back to the coach for breakfast and showers. After that we hooked up and hit the road. We headed down the highway to Las Vegas.
We arrived at the Las Vegas RV Resort. We saw that it got a stellar rating in the Good Sam parkfinder app. When we got here, we discovered that it was less than stellar. There is not one single blade of grass on the entire property. The dog play area, where the dogs can play off leash because it is fenced in, is also rock. Yuck. I don't see how this place rated so high. We will change parks tomorrow.
We went out to look at some RVs in the afternoon. We have been mulling over the idea of upgrading our coach. It was quite hot.
The highest temperature I have ever seen on the mirror was 117. This is not that far off!
We decided to treat ourselves while we are here in Vegas. This weekend may be the budget buster of the whole trip, but that's OK. It's only money, right? There is a heck of a lot of money in this town. I still am amazed by the sheer magnitude of the luxury. No detail is overlooked. Anyway, we went to a little French restaurant off the strip that came highly recommended by our friend, Amy. The name is Pamplemousse. It was quite a nice fine dining experience. I had the cream of roasted garlic soup (which was not overpowering) and the kitchen made me a pasta dish with red sauce and tons of vegetables like zucchini, cauliflower, and broccoli. For dessert Bill and I split a delicious Grand Marnier Souffle. Yummy!
