The weather was not good this morning and I didn't want to run in the rain. I decided to push myself a little on the treadmill and run at a 9:00 pace. I was supposed to do two miles today, but decided to do a shorter, faster run.
I ran 1.26 miles in 11:22 for an average pace of 9:02. My average cadence was 84. I think the footpod is better calibrated now, as it beeped one mile shortly after the treadmill hit it. The difference in time was about the same time it took me to start the treadmill and then push the button on the Garmin. I'm happier with that rather than the first time I used the footpod on the treadmill. I'm glad I took the time to calibrate it correctly, even if it meant not knowing exactly how far I ran that day.
I think I have a ways to go before that pace is comfortable and I can run a 5k under my goal time. I'm not worried. That day will come.
