Monday

I ran some errands today after the ride. I started at the car wash. They vacuumed the interior, cleaned the windows, and washed the outside for $12.99. Awesome! There was so much fur in there it wasn't funny. I can't believe how inexpensive it was and they did a great job.

I had to go to the bank, as the credit card was due. I talked with Cody about the shop and what is upcoming. He encouraged me to file the Quick Claim as soon as possible, so I may not wait until I see Bill. I scanned it and emailed it to him so he can read it, but I think I will file it sometime this week.

I planned on going to Intracoastal Outfitters to look for some hiking boots, but they were closed for construction this week. I guess they are rearranging the store. It would have been really nice if they had added that to their website. I could have saved myself a trip across town. Now I have to wait another week, which is one more week I'm not breaking in the boots. I thought I had my old ones, but I guess I got rid of them somewhere down the line. I have several pairs of work boots, but my friend Deb advised against the steel toes, as they could keep my feet cold. She also said there is a 50 mile rule, in that you don't hike in boots you haven't walked 50 miles in. Guess I had better get started!

Leah came by this afternoon and we talked about the feet and how my coaches recommended that she work the anterior tibialis and other muscles and tendons in the lower legs. Well, she got to work on them and OUCH!! She said she could feel all the tightness and that if it hurt too much she would stop. I want her to keep going and work out all the tightness. I know she can't get it all in one shot, but hoo boy! She recommended that I take a hot bath tonight with some epsom salts or other bath salts (which Amy sent me to try!). I feel so good right now, I'm afraid I would turn into jelly if I sat in the tub, but it is a good idea, and I think I will do that before bed. I feel great now including my legs and feet, but I know they aren't where they should be. She also gave me some suggestions for stretches to do after the run that will stretch those areas.

I am scheduled to run tomorrow, a nice slow easy run. It is supposed to rain all night and day tomorrow, so that may make it a TM day. That's OK. Maybe I'll download some podcasts tonight and that will make the run go faster. Also, on the treadmill I can set the speed for what they want me to do and I will be forced to slow down. Not a bad thing.
