Here's my hotel. I'm in the All-Star Movies Resort in the Buzz Lightyear building.
Here is my room.
This morning after my run I met up with my friend Dan and his wife Vicki. I haven't seen Dan since after sophomore year at college, so it has been quite a while. They spent the first night at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, so I met them there for breakfast. After we ate we went to their room to get their stuff so they could check out. Here's the view from their balcony. What's that in the center of the photo you say? Two zebras!
We then went to the expo to get our race packets and to check out the goodies. This is what the packet pick up area looks like:
Then we went to the Expo. I found a running skirt I wanted to buy, but they didn't have one in my size in a color I liked. They are supposed to get some more in, but we didn't want to stay. There were neat things to see there, and I probably could have spent major bucks. But I didn't. I did buy a pint glass commemorating the half marathon, and really wanted to get an "I did it" tee. The only one I liked was fitted and I didn't want that.
Then we went to the Contemporary to check them into their new place for the rest of the weekend. Here's the view from one of the main floors (not their room). Note the Magic Kingdom castle framed under the monorail.
We then went to Downtown Disney. What a cool little place! We walked around and I saw this guy made of legos.
We ate at the T-REX restaurant, which is really a Rainforest Cafe, but with a dinosaur theme. I was going to eat light, but then realized that it was 2:30, so I would have a heavier meal and then I'll have a snack before bedtime (which will be early tonight).
Then we dropped by Raglan Road Irish Pub (where they played country music) to relax and have a beverage. Pre-race carb loading is important.
My friend from high school, Kenny, and his girlfriend (who is doing the Marathon on Sunday) said they will be out there cheering me on. I sent him the picture above so they'll know what I'm wearing and can find me. I am so thrilled to have a cheering section! I am planning on joining him to cheer Courtney on Sunday.
Time to grab a light snack and hit the hay! Here's to hoping I can get some sleep!
