The long drive home

Today was the last day of my incredible weekend. I met Cousin Lois for breakfast early and we had a great time! Her restaurant recommendation was fantastic. There was so much to choose from, I had trouble deciding. Then we went back to her condo and visited some more. She was so worried about me getting back on time. I didn't care what time I got back, as long as it was before 6:30 so I could get the pets. I much preferred spending time with her.

When I checked out of Disney this morning the clerk asked me if I had directions to get back home. I told her that I did and that I was meeting my cousin who I hadn't seen in years. She gave me two "Family Reunion" buttons to celebrate! I got a button for my "1st visit" when I checked in and Dan told his desk clerk that it was my birthday, so I got a "Happy Birthday" button too. How funny. So I gave Lois her button and now she has a memento of our visit.

Then I hit the road and started the long (uneventful) drive home. I got back right around 4:30 and picked up the cats and dogs. We came home, unpacked, started laundry, got dinner cooking, and opened some wine. Aaaahhhh!

My feet are feeling better! Not 100%, but I would say they are significantly less painful. I think being off them all day helped. I hope they'll continue to improve. Once I can walk comfortably I will go to Running Wild for new shoes. If they have the same shoes in stock, I'd definitely buy them again, and I'd know when they go bad. If they don't have them, I'll want to see if any of the others feel as good.

While I was eating dinner I turned on the computer to sync my phone. Mom and Dad popped up on Skype so I called. I got to talk to them, Cathy, Mike, and Regina! It was a lot of fun talking to all of them! I even got to show them my hard-earned bling. Abby was curious and came over to say hi, so they got to see her. I hope we can Skype often.

Well, time to get the dishes soaking and switch the laundry. Then I'm off to bed. I have a feeling that tomorrow will be a long day, no matter how much fun it may be. I hope it is not a harsh return to reality.
