I remembered a few things I had wanted to put in the race recap. All during the run I had been selecting my targets to follow, keep pace with, and/or pass. There was "skirt", the girl in the purple shirt that said "Joshua Early", and the guy with the Mickey ears among others. At the end of the chutes a lady came up to me and said, "Great race! You set a good pace and I followed you most of the way."
That means that I was someone's target!! I never thought of myself as someone's target before. I always see myself as the slowpoke who needs to keep up with others. What a revelation!
The other thing I wanted to mention in the recap was that I had trouble running 60 seconds straight when I started in April. One minute doesn't seem like that long, but it was. On Saturday I ran 148.26 straight minutes. That is a 14,826% improvement in nine months. I'm quite proud of that.
