Today I had an LSD on the schedule. I was supposed to run for an hour and fifteen minutes. I was actually looking forward to it. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and fed the dogs. I decided not to run. I thought that it would be a better idea to continue to rest the leg and massage out the knot. I remember how much it hurt the other day to run. I really like running and I don't want to give it up, but I absolutely do not want to injure myself. A little extra rest can only help. I'm not going to lose much fitness (if any) over the next week or so, and I'll be biking and (I hope) swimming. That was a downer.
Then I couldn't fall asleep after I went back to bed. I think the act of getting up, and having woken from a really weird dream, woke me up completely, so I decided to throw in the towel and get up. I rolled my legs and got in the shower.
Michelle was coming over and we were going to paint today. There is a new cat rescue in town and Painting With a Twist was donating half the proceeds from today's class to the organization. I knew she was going to love to play with the kitties, so I had her come over well before we needed to leave.
Before she got to the house I was working on the sweater. I came to a stumbling block in the pattern and knew I couldn't effectively discuss it via email, so I called Melissa. I think she was really surprised that I called, and she asked how I got her number. I mentioned that it was on the card she gave me. Anyway, I explained the question I had and asked if whether what I thought she was trying to do was indeed what she was trying to do, but her directions wouldn't provide that. So we went round and round over it and finally figured out how to do what she wanted to do.
Then Melissa stops mid-sentence and says "OH NO! How far have you gotten?" Ummm, this far:
"STOP!" I sent you the wrong pattern!"
GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
All those lovely knits to either side of the cable were supposed to be purls. She wanted the sweater done in reverse stockinette, not regular stockinette. Thankfully this is only the first piece, and I'm not done with the whole thing. Only up to the underarms. Unfortunately it means I lost four days of work and I have to start all over. Poop. That is a real downer. I'm not going to restart it until tomorrow. Blah.
So after I got off the phone with her, we headed out to lunch and painting. We had a nice lunch at Santino's. The veggie sandwich there is really good. I haven't had it in a long time. It is a few doors down from the painting place, which was a nice bonus.
When you sit down to paint, it is an empty canvas. A little intimidating actually.
But with good instruction, you too can be Rembrant!
We had a really good time, even if we didn't get to chat much. This painting thing takes some serious concentration!
