I haven't caught you up on my day to day stuff in a while. Life is still going along as usual. I have been knitting a lot. Here are the sleeves of my sweater.
I cast on and started the front this evening. After that I can put it together and then knit the neckband. Time is getting short, but I think I am doing well. I've accomplished a lot in one week.
The kittens have provided me with hours of entertainment. Jolie was sick and is now doing great. I discovered that Cage has worms. Luckily the shelter has treatment and we went there today to get some pills to take care of that. Yesterday afternoon Sena did not want to put any weight on her right front paw. I thought that maybe she climbed too high in the bathroom (like maybe on to the counter) and didn't exactly land on her feet. I figured she'd be all bouncy this morning. Well she wasn't. In fact, she didn't want to put any weight on either of her front paws. She would sit back on her haunches. She wasn't interested in eating or drinking, but I did see her struggle into the litter box.
Now this evening Cage has slowed down. He doesn't want to eat or drink. I hand fed some kibble to Sena and used a syringe to get some water in her. I'm afraid I'll have to do the same for him if he doesn't improve. When I mentioned Sena's issues to the lady at the shelter she agreed that it was not an emergency and that I didn't need to take her to the ER. She said that if it didn't get better by Tuesday I should call them and they'll make an appointment with the vet. I think I may not wait that long, depending on how they look tomorrow. Sena does not seem to have much balance or control over her legs. Cage just seems listless. Poor Jolie wants to play but all they want to do is lay there and sleep.
Here's some kitten cuteness for you.
I believe that is Sena trying to meet Marco up close. I love how she looks in the first picture when she's standing on her hind legs.
I hope that the two will be fine in the morning. I feel bad about all the trouble I've had with them.
Tawny has been quite vigilant about watching them. The poor kittens must be getting tired of her always breathing down their necks. Well Tawny decided to let Abby take over the watch this evening for a little while. Yet, she wasn't able to stay too far away.
I saw something in our neighborhood that I haven't seen before. I was so glad to be able to take a picture of it. Now there is proof that it is possible.
The neighbor can actually put his truck in the driveway. Who knew?
Today I went to Hopjack's for lunch. I was supposed to meet Angela's husband, Dave, there at 12:30. He called around 12:00 to say that he'd be there around 1:00. So I hung out here for a while and then left. I got to the place right at 1:00. He didn't get there until about 2:15. We finished just before 4:00, which meant that I missed knitting group, which was from 2:00 to 4:00. I did enjoy hanging out with him, though, so it was worth it.
From there I decided to go to the Corry pool to swim some laps. I need to know that I can swim the 300 yards and I don't want to wait until the tri to find out! So I planned ahead and brought everything. It looked like it might rain, but I went anyway. As I drove past the pool I noticed that no one was in it. There was a sign on the door that said the pool was closed until further notice due to an electrical problem. I just am not destined to swim. Last week every time I tried to go a thunderstorm popped up. It wasn't even the same time everyday! I am pretty frustrated with my luck. I hope my luck will turn for the better soon.
So I figured since I was here, I would go to the commissary and pick up a few things. I headed towards the gate that would put me at the commissary. It was closed today. I decided to cut my losses and just go home. I didn't feel like going out the gate and going all the way around to get in. I'll do some shopping tomorrow. If I don't get to it I'm sure I can find some food somewhere in the house. I won't starve!
That's all for now. I should probably get back to knitting (although I really just want to go to sleep).
