Ah, Tuesday. Time for McGuire's!
It was a really hot one, but I felt like I was doing well. I lost Jen after about 2.75 miles. I knew she was slowing down but when I turned around and saw her walking, she just waved me on. I knew she was having a hard time. It wasn't easy for me, but I was in the groove and just ran. I felt really good, despite the heat.
I ran 3.11 miles in 32:46 for an average pace of 10:33. Splits: 10:48, 10:34, 10:24, 1:00 (=9:25 pace). I wasn't trying for negative splits, but I guess my luck from this morning carried over.
Afterwards we went to the Wine Bar and had a fabulous dinner. The grenache/garnacha was really good and surprisingly it did not give me a headache. Usually if I have red wine after a run my head feels like it will split open. I can have a beer with no problem and the one time I tried white wine after I was OK, but the red was a killer. Not so much today!
