Prepping update

I forced myself to work on the house yesterday, and I did not reward myself. I skipped knitting today to work on the house. I feel like I have accomplished a lot. There is still plenty to do, but for now I feel pretty good.

My main hold up is that I want to run the dishwasher and I want to do laundry. I am holding out until tomorrow for that since that's the last day before the packers come. I need to make sure that everything I don't want packed is in the coach. I don't mind going down the street and into the coach to get clothes for the next day. I guess then tomorrow will start the week of eating out. Ugh. Don't get me wrong, there are several really tasty places here. I just hate the idea of not being able to easily cook for myself. I do enjoy someone else's cooking, but I prefer to eat my own, even if I just want peas for dinner. Luckily it won't last forever. If we were PCSing like regular people, we'd be in hotels and eating out for weeks. We have the coach, which makes the move so much better. We have our home with us! Our bed, our kitchen, our food, our pets. I really appreciate that.

I brought in the box to pack our Myth TV (the DVR) and the cats have developed quite an affinity for this box. I have no idea what it is about this box, but they play in it for hours. Especially if it is two in the morning. I'm sorry to disappoint them, but I will be packing Myth tonight. So much for that. If I can find another person, I'll be packing the TV too. I cannot lift it by myself. I'm good, but not that good.

The wine also gets packed tonight. I'm looking forward to picking out some good ones for the trip. Before Bill left, he told me to make sure that no wine went bad. I have felt guilty on many occasions when enjoying an incredible bottle of wine, knowing that he couldn't share in it. Now we'll be able to drink them together. I am sure that after all this time without wine (and beer), he'll be more than happy to drink them.

Slowly but surely, things are starting to take shape. Tomorrow will be ridiculously busy, but I will handle the day with aplomb (I've wanted to say that). I have a few errands to run first thing after my workout, but then the rest of the day will be spent washing and loading.

I am excited because a few of my friends have already indicated that they will come help supervise the packers Tuesday. I hope I'll find a few for the rest of the week. I know this week will fly by and then this huge weight that I've been carrying around will lift. Then I can enjoy myself for a few days, work on the books for the shop, and tie up loose ends before Bill gets home. I can't believe that it is right around the corner. I have been awaiting this day for a long time! I'm so glad I have a lot to keep me busy.

If we weren't moving and he was coming back here to his old job, these last few days of waiting would kill me! But with all the stuff I have to do, it's the stress that will kill me, not the wait! The next task I need to do is find someone with an electric sander I can borrow. I need to sand out Tawny's scratches on the doors and then repaint them. I am definitely waiting until after our stuff is gone. I also have to find a cleaner so the place will sparkle from top to bottom. I guess my work is never done, huh.

OK, break time is over. Back to work!
