Today was mostly a good day so far. I woke at 3am to the sounds of a pretty intense rainstorm. I had trouble going back to sleep. As the rain went on through the morning, I realized that I was probably not going to do my brick workout.
I went to the Santa Rosa Island Triathlon clinics today. I figured that I would get something out of the presentations, and I did. It was nice to see Coach Mark and Coach John there. I also chatted with a few people I had seen at other events, races, and at the Triggerpoint class at Running Wild. I am somewhat bummed that we're leaving. There are some great programs here that I wish I could take advantage of.
As I was pulling into the parking lot of the seminar, my friend Cherryl called me. She's in town for the day and wanted to get together. After to seminar I picked her up and we went to Jordan Valley Cafe for lunch and then to the Exchange and Commissary. I wanted to pick up some baby stuff at the Exchange, but thought that might be awkward. Cherryl did not have a problem with it and said she appreciated me asking but she was OK to go with.
While I was gone, there was some thunder. I was worried what I might find when I came back. Well, the coach was intact, thank goodness. I left a bag on the floor with all the spices I had brought from the house. Apparently basil is a big winner with the dogs. They went through both (unopened) containers. Toasted sesame seeds are also on the good list. Everything else seemed to be relatively untouched. Most of the basil wound up on the floor or down in the heating duct. We will have to remember to clean it out soon, or we will be in for a big surprise the instant we turn on the heat!
I went for a brief run this evening and then had dinner. Now I need to concentrate on plans for tomorrow morning's shower. I hope the rain will hold off so I can get a run in too. I have an LSD on the schedule and I'd like to work it in. I have to purchase balloons and stuff and take them to Cookie Amy tomorrow to take to the shower. I would like to balance the shop books tomorrow too, so I can go to the Department of Revenue Monday to find out what I have to do to close out the shop with them.
I painted my toes tonight with the new nail polish that Penny sent me. Here are some photos of the swap package.
