I didn't take the dogs to the beach the other day. My neighbor, Liz, didn't feel well, so we decided to postpone. She called me this afternoon to see if we could go today. I loaded the dogs in the truck and then went by her place. She and Sophie were ready to go. She followed me down to the base and to the beach.
The dogs had a BLAST!! They were having so much fun chasing each other around. Tawny was the stron swimmer today and she was fetching the orange toy constantly. Then a guy came by with his black lab and all our dogs went over to hang out with him. Liz and I decided to introduce ourselves. He apologized for monopolizing our dogs! His name is Nick and Sasha is his dog.
The four of them ran around for what seemed like forever! I think we were out there for an hour and a half and they just would not admit to being tired. Sophie actually swam a few yards and Liz was so excited. I told her that she just needs to be around dogs that are swimming and she will pick it up. Rava swam a few times today, too, but spent most of the time standing and running in the water or along the beach.
Tawny with the orange toy. She had such a great time getting that!
Sophie is the the foreground, Rava is standing in the water, Sasha is going to get the tennis ball, and Tawny is retrieving the orange toy. They all got along great. I am sure that Liz and I will be going back soon; we talked about Wednesday afternoon.
In other news, I made a reservation and I'm taking the coach out this weekend. There is a lake at the place and they allow dogs (and humans) to swim in it. I am pretty excited about them being able to romp around in the water. There is also a 1/2 Olympic size indoor pool for laps, so I will be able to practice my swimming. I think this will be a fun trip.
