Today was a really good day. I took the Honda to Pep Boys for an oil change. I brought it a little before my appointment because I wanted to be sure to have it done by 10:30. They were finished a few minutes after 10.
From there I headed to the Hilton for brunch with Cherryl and a few other wives. I had a nice time. They had cupcakes on the dessert table. Ordinarily I'd pass them up because I figure that they would be too sweet. Surprisingly the frosting was not nearly as sweet as I had suspected and the cake itself was nice and moist. It was probably one of the best cupcakes I have had in a long time. Of course I haven't had that many cupcakes recently, so that's not saying much.
Anyway, after that I had a few minutes to kill before meeting my knitting group at Bia's. I dropped by Target to see if they had any swimsuits. I thought it might be nice to have a spare. I could have chosen any one of 10,000 suits if I had wanted a two-piece. There were only seven one-piece suits in the entire section and they were all either Large or Extra Large. I did find some leggings on sale, and I have been looking for them for a while. I figured that I won't beat $8 so I bought them. I had found some in the Victoria's Secret catalog, but they were $20 + shipping. I was pleased with that deal.
Knitting was fun! There were five or six of us there. Bia even joined us with her knitting. It was so good to see Carol again. Cookie Amy tried her hand at making Lemoncello recently and brought me a bottle. I had a little sample and mmmmm is it good!
Jen mentioned that she was heading to the Pensacola Bay Brewery after to pick up a go-bottle. I asked her if she wanted company and tagged along. I have wanted to check this place out for a while. So here is how it works. You buy a mug and you can get a flight of all the beers they have. Or you buy a pint glass and they will fill it with the beer of your choice free. You can also get a 32-oz or a gallon jug and fill that up to take home. I had a sample of the wheat beer and the amber and decided to order a pint of the amber. Turns out I prefer the amber in the taste quantity. It was a little much for me in the pint. I got a 32-oz bottle and took home some IPA. I was not impressed with that so much either, as I had some with my dinner. Oh well. I had to try.
The dogs were great while I was gone, and I was gone for quite a while today. Nine hours, I think. We never made it to the beach today unfortunately, but I may take them tomorrow afternoon, depending on the weather.
