The dogs and I did the second day of week 3 this morning. We ran our new route, which doesn't have any dogs. Well, I should say that it doesn't have any that can get out and attack us. There are those that bark at us, but they are ok. The dogs did really well. You could tell that it was a little cooler this morning than it has been. It was the same workout as Monday. We did 1.82 miles in 27:21.
Then I dropped them off in the yard and went to do my workout. Today were intervals, but they were different from my usual intervals. Today was a 10 minute warm up (I did five minutes, since I had just finished with the dogs), then 5 minutes at a moderate pace, 5 mins easy, 4 mins moderate, 4 mins easy, 3 mins moderate, 3 mins easy, 2 mins moderate, 2 mins easy, 1 min moderate, five mins easy. Sounds like fun, no? Here are my average paces from the runs: 10:54, 9:38, 11:14, 9:42, 10:44, 9:48, 11:01, 9:29, 11:01, 9:23, 11:10. Perhaps I could have gone faster for the moderates, but Coach specified "moderate, not hard" so that's what I tried to do. Total of 3.74 mi in 39:02.
