Today was a good day overall. I'm slowly coming out of my funk from yesterday.
I got another order in overnight, so I went to the "shop" to fill that. Then I went to the swim shop, as I had a question on my goggles. When I wore them on Monday they hurt my left eye socket near my nose. I tweaked the strap a little last night and wore them around the house for an hour to see if they still hurt. If so, I wanted to take them back. They didn't hurt, but I found that they were pretty dark. That is good for outdoor swimming. Most of my swimming now will be done inside, so I was thinking about getting clear ones. Anyway, as I wore them I thought I saw a smudge. I went to clean it and realized that I wasn't sure what kind of cloth to use or if I needed to use any particular cleaner. So I went to the shop to ask. They are not smudged, but scratched. That's disappointing. Especially since I can't figure out how. They've either been in their case or on my face. I suppose the little plastic insert may have a sharp area. That just occurred to me. I'll have to check. Bummer.
I then picked up Liz and we went to knitting. Actually, first I went to the shelter. Liz O had ordered some gear from Skirt Sports and had gotten the free hoodie. It doesn't fit her, so it became mine! It fits like a glove. I also talked to her about fostering some kittens. They have almost 100 at the shelter. I told her I'd take some if she needed me to, but it would have to be short term and after I get back from CT. She also showed me her new MP3 player. She is frustrated with cords. I dislike them slapping around, too. I saw an ad somewhere for the new Sony Walkman. I sent her the link the other day and she ordered it. It looks neat! She let me try it on and let me put the small earpieces in to get a good fit. I think I could live with it! I don't ordinarily run with music. When I'm on the treadmill I like to have some distractions. The unfortunate part is that with the way my arms move while running, I tend to rip the cords out of my ears. Maybe I will add this to my birthday wish list for the days I run in the park or on the TM and don't have to worry about traffic.
There was a good crowd at knitting today and I think this will be successful. Dottie brought a pattern that she'd like to do as a KAL. It looks like a good one, although I'm not particularly interested in doing it myself. I guess I'll send out an email and see if anyone is interested.
Then I took Liz home. I went back to Warrington because I wanted to check out the Pensacola Athletic Center. There is a pool there. I asked about short term membership and it is $60/month for the pool and fitness center for three months. It is extra for tennis. I mentioned that I wasn't interested in the fitness center and did they have a rate for just the pool. They don't, but the guy said that he would extend me membership to the pool for $50/month for the three months. I don't know if that is worth it.
The Corry Pool has better hours than the NASP pool, but it won't open until Memorial Day. Even then, I'm not sure what I'll be able to do and when there. I'll try and find more information out.
And that sums up my day. Oh wait, I forgot about this morning. Someone (more than likely Tawny) went in the kitchen and ate the cat food. I'm disappointed by this development. I will be closing the gates tonight and every night for the foreseeable future. I think this was spurred by the increase in activity. I know that when I started working out I was more hungry than usual. It wouldn't surprise me if the dogs felt the same way. They have been wanting to eat earlier everyday, so I'm guessing that Tawny got hungry for a midnight snack and went looking for it.
Well, time to get to bed. I want to rest up. Tomorrow I need to send out the order I got overnight and I want to continue cleaning the bedroom. There's a ton of laundry to be done. Then I am heading out to Navarre for the Sunset Stampede 5k. I'll be feeding the dogs half their dinner in the afternoon and the other half later in the evening. I hate to do that to them, but I don't have much of a choice. Speaking of dogs, I guess I need to find them a place to stay next week for their vacation.
