Lazy day

After the run I went to the pool. I swam about 8 laps and then got out. I decided it was stupid for me to be in there alone. I came back and showered and then went to the office to pay for the stay. They had erroneously had me down for 5 nights and the person working last night couldn't change it. No problem.

After that I went out in town to the grocery store. I did a great job of packing breakfast, lunch, and snacks, but a crummy job of packing dinner. One box of Turk'y burgers isn't going to do. I brought pizza crusts, but no sauce. So I picked up a baguette, red sauce, and a bag of pasta.

From there I went to The Yarn Cottage in Fairhope. It is about 8 miles from the campground. Rhonda was very surprised to see me. We had a good chat and then she met with a yarn rep. I meandered around the store. It has come a long way since I saw it last, two years ago. I am happy for her and I think she will be successful.

On Thursday I agreed to do a test knit for a sock designer. I brought the yarn with me so I could work on it this weekend. She emailed me the pattern last night and so I have been trying to copy it onto paper so I don't have to leave the computer up. I saw a place in Fairhope that was a print shop and a sign advertising internet access in the window, so I went in to see if I could get the pattern printed. I did and I think that will work much better. It also will enable me to see any mistakes (found one last night) in the pattern instead of making more mistakes or making corrections without realizing it as I transcribe.

On a side note, I was contacted by Melissa Leapman (knitting celebrity -- yes, they do exist!) to do a sample knit for her. I'm really excited about knitting for her. I have no idea what the project is, other than it is done in chunky weight and it has cables. She selected a great yarn and is having it shipped directly to me. I have a three week deadline on that, so I better crank out these socks so I can be ready to start the other.

After I left the copy shop I dropped by the Sunflower Cafe, a vegetarian restaurant, on the way back to the coach. I had a cream cheese, Granny Smith apple, and toasted pecan wrap. It was quite good. I could not eat the side salad, so I brought that home to add to my dinner possibilities.

I could hear something scraping the side of the coach when I was trying to sleep, so I went out to investigate. I parked a little too close to the tree and the branches were rubbing along the side. I have relocated them to be above the coach. I hope they won't damage the roof when the wind blows. I wouldn't be nervous about leaving normally, but these trees have Christmas tree lights strung in them and I'm afraid they will catch on one of the things up top. I'm going to have to figure out what to do by Monday morning.

I took the dogs to the lake this afternoon. I think they had a good time.

When we came back I wanted to rinse them off. So I tried to open the exterior shower.

Oops. I'm glad I got the key out of the lock. There's no way I'm going to try that with the other key! I think we have some spares at the house. I will talk to some people and see if there is a way to loosen the lock without breaking another key. I'd like to have access to the shower.

On the other hand, it is an impressive show of my strength!

Off to knit ...
