I'm really glad Cherryl decided to do this. She has suffered more tragedy in the past year than I would wish on my sworn enemy over a lifetime. This was her first run in around 9 months. She wanted to run a 10:00 pace, so I set it and she kept it up. She was quite consistent. The conditions this morning were great, and if I had been on my own I think I would have PR'd and placed 2nd in my group. However, I got a lot of satisfaction seeing Cherryl so happy at finishing and doing well. It was worth it!
Our Garmin time was 30:48 for 3.11 miles, an average pace of 9:55. Splits were 9:55, 9:59, 9:54, 1:00 (a 9:18 pace). The officials didn't have a timing mat at the start, so they have our official time at 31:00 and 31:01.
